Instant potatoes vs. Real mashed potatoes

Instant mashed potatoes are a definite time saver! but it isn’t healthier than real mashed potatoes, but you can always find a good brand that doesn’t contain any artificial ingredients and it’s all 100% natural and organic. So always look for a brand that has fewer ingredients and then heighten the flavor. This only if you’re looking for a shortcut for a mashed potatoes recipe.

I recommend you to cook your own potatoes, it’s not that hard but unfortunately takes more time.

Nutritionally speaking, instant mashed potatoes offer roughly same vitamins as the real potatoes but they tend to be higher in sodium, it’s higher than the amount of salt that you usually use at home.

Plus they don’t taste the same! You can tell the difference right away

In conclusion I recommend to cook your own potatoes but if you really don’t have time, make sure to buy good brands or cook the potatoes in advance.
